What is Boond?
Boond means ‘a drop’ in Sanskrit. The name signifies our vision of major development issues being resolved by small collective efforts. Boond is a social enterprise which is a special conduit that gets social products like solar lamps, water filters and mosquito nets designed, developed and shipped to the poor in remote Indian villages.

Boond (www.boond.net) is not only a way for us to finance the manufacture and transportation of the development products but also an effort to unite people on a cause and bring about a change in our mindset. We want to make people believe that they can be instruments of change in whatever amounts or ways that are in their capacity.

We also tie up with Microfinance organisations but only those that charge less than 15% interest for their financing. This is because we realise that the areas we service are very price sensitive and we want to keep the products as affordable as possible.

Boond Legal Structure

It is a 100% Indian entity with all products made and assembled in India.

Boond is presently a distributorship (as Boond Engineering & Development Products) and works through legally binding agreements with NGO partners for recruitment and maintenance of NGO partners and preferential discounted product supply with our manufacturers. We pay sales tax and VAT (as required) on every item and Boond is also our registered trademark and copyright.

Our goal is to convert to a Private Limited Company as we reach scale to support the legal and administrative costs associated with it.
